1. CHARACTER.

1.1. Character creation.

When you create your character you have to pick a name and you can customize its appearance (race, gender, hair, skin and cloth color). Each race have different starting abilities.

After choosing your look you will be asked to choose the two powers you want to start with, you can learn more powers as your experience increases later in the game. These two powers will determine your character class and will give you another boost to abilities related to them (extra vigor, dexterity or spirit).

1.2. Abilities and stats.

There are three main abilities: vigor, dexterity and spirit.

- Each vigor point grants you 2 attack and 2 hit points (HP).

- Each dexterity point grants you 2 evasion and 2 accuracy. For characters with the power Marksmanship it will also increase their attack with bows.

- Each spirit point grants you 2 magic and 2 mana points (MP).

Starting abilities by race:

RaceStarting abilities
Human15 Vigor 10 Dexterity 15 Spirit
Dwarf15 Vigor 15 Dexterity 10 Spirit
Elf10 Vigor 15 Dexterity 15 Spirit

Bonuses to abilities by starting powers:

Power treeStarting abilities
Melee combat+5 Vigor
Ranged combat+5 Dexterity
Holy magic+5 Spirit
Dark magic+5 Spirit

For example, if you choose one ranged and one melee power when you create your character, you'll get +5 dexterity and +5 vigor. If you choose two powers of the same tree, you will get +10 to a ability.

There are a few stats in the game which determine how stronger your character is in combat:

- Attack: damage modifier when using melee and ranged powers.

- Magic: damage modifier when using spells (black and holy magic powers).

- Defense: your protection against physical attacks.

- Resistance: your protection against magical attacks.

- Hit points (HP): it is the life of your character. It regenerates slowly over time or fast using potions and the cure spell.

- Mana points (MP): mana is a resource that you spend when using powers. It regenerates slowly over time or fast using potions.

- Damage. The basic damage you are able to deal to enemies. It is determined by the powers and equipment you use and it is increased or decreased by your attack/enemy defense when you use physical powers and by your magic/enemy resistance when you use spells.

1.5. Level Up.

You get experience when you kill enemies, your 3 main abilities (vigor, spirit and dexterity) are increased while fighting depending on the powers you use. Each time you earn a certain amount of experience you level up which grants you additional bonusses.

These bonusses are the following:

- Your stats are increased depeding on your character class.

- You learn a new power each 4 levels. You start with 2 powers at level 1 so you will have 3 powers at level 4, 4 at level 8, 5 at level 12 and so on.

The powers you already know are improve as you use them or a power related to them. For example using Critical Hit will also improve Horizon Strike if you know both powers, but Horizon Strike will progress much slower if the character only uses Critical Hit.

2. GAME UI AND COMBAT.

2.1. UI.

1. You can select the power you want to use by clicking on these icons. The power assined to an icon can be change by double clicking on it.
2. These icons will allow you to drink a life or a mana regeneration potion.
3. Switch weapons. The switch weapons icon will allow you to change between your primary and secondary weapons.
4. Inventory. This icon will open your inventory. In the inventory there is a button which also gives you access to the character screen info.
5. Journal. You can check your current objetives and quests there.
6. Menu. Use this to open a menu which gives you access to more options (save and load options included) and pauses the game.
7. Zone map. This is the map of the zone, you can double click on it to see it bigger.
8. Fast travel. Use this icon to travel to other world locations. To unlock this option you must complete the first objetive of the first quest of the game.
There is an icon which replaces the "fast travel" option when you go into a cave or inside a building. That icon will allow you to get to the exterior fast.
It is recommended that you get used to the hotkeys instead of clicking on the icons directly, this way you will play faster and the game experience will be more enjoyable.

2.2. Combat mechanics.

To attack an enemy just click on him with the mouse. You character will use the power you have currently selected to hit. If you don't have enough mana to use the power then he will make a standard attack with the weapon equiped.

You can force an attack on any direction without clicking on an enemy, you can do this by holding the "Attack on click" key (SHIFT by default) and clicking in the desired direction. This is very useful for ranged attacks.

Heal and buff spells will be casted just by using the hotkey assined to the power or by clicking on their icon. If you want to heal an ally you have to press the hotkey assined to the Cure spell while aiming at him.

Sometimes your enemies will have to make a hit recovery action before continue fightning you (80% chance if you hit them for more than half of their maximum hit points and 20% for less deadly hits).

2.3. Save and load.

You can save your progress anytime you want in the game menu (just press ESC or click on its icon to open it). The game will also be saved automatically each time you enter a new map and before starting a travel to another one.

The game is saved in your flash player cache so if you delete your browser cache you will lose your progress.

3. EQUIPMENT.

3.1. Inventory.

You can access your inventory by clicking on the "inventory icon" or by using the assigned hotkey ('i' by default).

To equip an item just click on the item, move it to a valid slot and click again (valid slot are highlighted when you select an item).

For weapons you have a few options:

- A two handed weapon (bow or melee weapon).

- A one handed weapon and a shield.

- Two one handed weapons (one on each hand).

You can also equip a helmet, an armor and 5 accessories.

Items have vigor requeriments you must meet to use them.

You can improve the enchantments of your items in some locations, but you can only enhance existing enchantments on them, you cannot add new ones.

The more level you have the more you can improve the enchantments on your items.

3.2. Relics.

There are very powerful items that you can find in your adventures if you are a bit lucky. There are two categories:
- Normal mode relics, which can be found in normal and heroic difficulty.
- Heroic mode relics, which can be found in heroic difficulty. There is a small chance to find these on normal under some circumstances, though.
